In addition to the Club officers, Walleye Searchers has a Youth Coordinator. This individual coordinates efforts of the Walleye Searchers to become involved with any youth events in the area. This can be a donation of money, fishing tackle or member participation to these events. The hosts of these events is usually asked to attend a monthly Walleye searchers meeting and present their event to the members. How to participate in the event is then determined by the club.
Another opportunity for Walleye Searchers to participate in youth fishing activities has been awarding scholarships to area school age youth fishing clubs. Currently early in the year teams are being contacted and asked if they are interested in applying for a scholarship. If an application is received, a Walleye Searchers committee reviews it and asks the club to appear at an upcoming event or meeting. Each team that appears is judged by the committee and scholarships are awarded to the teams. The top winning teams also agree to help in the activities of the walleye Searchers Lake Pepin Open fishing tournament held each year in April.
